1683 - 1722
Extract of the Earl of Breadalbane's properties in Perthshire, with the names of the Towns and Possessors thereof, drawn out of the Earl's rental, at Balloch, 17 december 1683.
This document from the Breadalbane Muniments (NRS GD112/9/5/6/1) runs to 3 pages. Only page 1, recording farms on the south side of Lochtay, is shown here.
As with the Hearth Tax rolls there are no Fishers but Easgers are recorded at Alekich, Acharn and Easter Croftmartaig. These farms were next door to each other. I can find no Fisher aliases on any of the other pages. Did the Fishers further west on Lochtay all come from the area we now know as Acharn?
Fisher baptisms 1691 - 1722 in Old Parochial records
Alexander Fisher was born around 1726 but sadly there are no surviving baptism records between 1722 and 1728 in the parish of Kenmore. 45 baptisms were recorded in the parish before 1722, many more than in any surrounding parish. In Killin 24 Fishers were baptised, in Balquidder 18, Crieff 9, Callander 10, Dunkeld 7, Perth 2 but none in Dull, Weem, Logierait, Blair Atholl or Moulin.
The adresses given are mostly located in what we now know as Acharn. An Elizabeth, an Alexander and an Isobell were baptised in Alekich to various parents in the 1690s. Others were baptised in Acharn, Ballinlaggan, Achianich, Tomgarrow and Croftmartaig.
