Ground Officers report on the Management and Character of Tenants. February 1836 (NRS: GD112/12/1/6/56)

This interesting document, written by ground officers, gives a 'feel' for what was going on in Aberfeldy and Loch Tayside in 1836. The word 'improvement' was repeatedly used and tenants were being judged to identify those that are underperforming and, by inference, candidates for removal. Alexander sadly fell into this category and was a victim of the removals from Easter Aberfeldy.
